Diamond Vision’s proud history of LASIK leadership in New York

New York residents are proud, savvy and demanding. They have made Diamond Vision the #1 LASIK practice in the New York metropolitan area year after year. Indeed, Diamond Vision’s history is deeply interwoven with that of LASIK in New York City.

After September 11 th, 2001, it took a long time for New York’s roads and bridges to fully reopen. To serve Connecticut and New Jersey residents better, Diamond Vision needed to open LASIK centers closer to them. In 2002 the Paramus, New Jersey and Long Island, New York LASIK centers were founded, and quickly became as successful as their New York parent.

Meanwhile, two very exciting LASIK innovations were being hatched: Intralase “blade-free” LASIK and CustomVue. The first promised to reduce complications, the second to reduce side-effects, and both would create sharper day and night vision.

Diamond Vision became the first LASIK practice in New York and in the tri-state area to offer CustomVue bladeless LASIK and to teach it to other doctors. If LASIK can be made even better for our neighbors in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, why hesitate one second?

In 2005, Diamond Vision opened a new LASIK office in New Haven, CT and equipped its Hartford, CT LASIK center with state of the art bladeless LASIK technology. 2006 was Diamond Vision's Tenth Year Anniversary, a time to celebrate our record of providing the highest standards of LASIK and laser vision correction to patients in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

In 2007 Diamond Vision was voted "Best in Connecticut" for LASIK by the readers of a prominent Connecticut newspaper. That year also saw the move to a brand new and considerably larger New York LASIK center in the heart of mid-town Manhattan and the expansion of the Diamond Vision LASIK Center in NJ.

In 2008 Diamond Vision embraced the new iLASIK concept, an integrated approach to LASIK excellence in technology and results, encompassing the custom LASIK approach and the Intralase bladeless LASIK laser, all upgraded with innovations such as iris registration. Besides LASIK and iLASIK, Diamond Vision doctors are also offering the new PRK, bladeless vision correction that improves over the old PRK through better instruments and intra-operative drops.

Diamond Vision’s award-winning LASIK surgeons, led by Steven Stetson, MD, continue to offer the latest technology upgrades, as well as unique innovations to enhance patient comfort and patient experience.

New York residents want the best LASIK, and they are smart with their finances. That’s why Diamond Vision’s uncompromising pursuit of excellence, with its New York style competitive pricing, has become the practice of choice for all LASIK patients, not just in New York, but also in New Jersey, Connecticut and beyond.

Lasik

Lasik (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) is a type of refractive surgery for correcting myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. LASIK is performed by ophthalmologists using a laser.[1] LASIK is similar to other surgical corrective procedures such as photorefractive keratectomy, PRK, (also called ASA, Advanced Surface Ablation) though it provides benefits such as faster patient recovery. Both LASIK and PRK represent advances over radial keratotomy in the surgical treatment of vision problems, and are thus viable alternatives to wearing corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses for many patients.
